‘Thriving’ Scottish high street named one of the best for a spot of last-minute Christmas shopping

Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow‘s Southside was the “thriving” Scottish high street named among the best in the UK for some last-minute Christmas shopping.

Discussing the popular spot, The Times newspaper said that in the south of the city, “you’ll find thriving pockets of indie shops, cafés and eateries, and none more so than Pollokshaws Road”.

Describing the street, the publication said it is “lined on one side by sandstone tenements and on the other partly by Queen’s Park,” featuring no shortage of fantastic hidden gems.

Suggesting a few spots to visit, travellers were told to start their day off at Burnfield Bakery for “limited-edition treats” such as Danish pastries with graham cracker frangipane and chocolate crémeux.
