If you are dreaming of your next city break then you will be pleased to know that easyJet has announced a further UK expansion and one new route in particular will whisk you away to a stunning European city from a key UK airport.

From March 30 next year the budget airline will fly direct from Manchester Airport to Milan Linate, in addition to an existing service to Milan Malpensa, with tickets already on sale starting from just £35.99 one way.

As Italy’s second largest city and of course the most fashionable Milan is a magnet for eager travellers and designers.

The city is home to the incredible Duomo di Milano renowned for its grandeur and beauty. It houses thousands of statues and hundreds of gargoyles and church figures and is revered as a staple of the French Gothic style.

Trend setting Milan is also a foodie city with their most famous dish being Risotto alla Milanese.

This classic dish which captures the hearts of many is said to come from the mid-1800s is made up of medium grain rice, broth, saffron, and cheese.

And no visit to this stunning city is complete without visiting Castello Sforzesco which was one of the main military citadels in seventeenth-century Europe.

Castello Sforzesco was built as a fortress in the fourteenth century and is one of the most important landmarks in Milan so you must make sure to take a minute to admire this amazing landmark.

easyJet has also announced an array of other new routes that will be departing from four UK airports just in time for summer 2025.

Edinburgh will see two new services from Birmingham to Gibraltar and Bordeaux while Bristol will see the launch of two new routes. One will be to Palermo in Italy on June 24, 2025, and the route to Almeria in Spain will follow two days later.

A new A320 aircraft, which will be based at Bristol Airport, will also be part of the upcoming expansion.

The airline currently serves 21 UK airports and already offers 585 routes from the UK to over 130 destinations. With the expansion, British travellers will have even more options when planning to visit some of Europe’s best destinations.
