La Liste has unveiled its ranking of the top 1,000 eateries across the world. The list is compiled by scanning “thousands of publications, hundreds of guidebooks, and millions of online reviews” to discover which restaurants are regarded as the best across public and expert opinion.

La Liste gathers scores and combines them by reliability and expertise to reach a final score out of 100. Included in the list are mostly high-end establishments renowned for awards such as Michelin stars.

Out of a global 1,000 ranking, 75 dining spots from the UK have been featured. Although Merseyside failed to gain recognition, there are a handful of restaurants just a short drive away.
