Jake Paul battled past a 58-year-old Mike Tyson to clinch a points victory in one of the most controversial fights of all time.
Tyson took on YouTuber Paul, 27, live on Netflix in the former heavyweight champion’s first professional bout in 19 years, but immediately appeared to be a shadow of himself.
Paul, without ever needing to exert himself, eased to victory while boxing on the outside of the ring in front of 70,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Tyson conceded he had an injury entering the bout but refused to make it an excuse for his performance, with Paul hinting that he was reluctant to commit to his combinations through fear: “I was trying to hurt him a little bit. But I was scared, he was trying to hurt me too.”
In the evening’s co-main event, there was controversy and plenty of action as Katie Taylor defeated Amanda Serrano in their rematch in what developed into another classic. The Puerto Rican’s gruesome cut following a headbutt from the Irishwoman led to cries of outrage afterward, with the losing camp accusing the champion of dirty tactics – follow the latest reaction and relive all the results from Arlington below:
Paul v Tyson reaction
The controversial and much-discussed fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul ended up as seemingly a less-than-thrilling occasion for many fans who went, with the AT&T Stadium emptying in some areas before the main event had even finished.
Part of that was down to apparent dissatisfaction from the spectators, with boos hurled down at a lack of action in the second half of the fight in particular.
Paul, 27, beat Tyson, 58, on points following eight two-minute rounds, with the scorecards reading 80-72, 79-73, 79-73 in the younger man’s favour.

Paul vs Tyson reaction
Sports broadcaster Stephen A. Smith, ESPN’s host of First Take, says age was always going to be a factor in the fight – and has called for Jake Paul to fight a top-ten current boxer.
“Love Mike Tyson. Always have, always will,” he wrote on X. “But 58 is 58. Plus the legs just wasn’t there. Old is old. Thank God he didn’t get knocked out. Now it’s time for Jake Paul to get in the ring with a Top-10 fighter — or Hell, a Champion. No more BBall players, strikers from MMA, or old men. It’s time for Jake to get into a real fight. He’s good enough! Make it happen.”
Fellow broadcaster Adam Catterall was more succinct: “Let’s be honest. That was ABSOLUTELY rubbish.”

Mike Tyson suggests ‘biting fixation’
Mike Tyson said he repeatedly bit his glove during his fight with Jake Paul because he has “a biting fixation”.
Tyson, 58, appeared to bite his glove numerous times during his points loss to Paul, 27, as the controversial fight played out at AT&T Stadium – home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Paul emerged a winner on all three scorecards – 80-72, 79-73, 79-73 – after eight two-minute rounds.
And one trend that viewers noticed was Tyson biting his glove, something he was asked about in his post-fight interview.
“Oh, I have a habit of biting my gloves, yeah,” said the former heavyweight champion. “I have a biting fixation.”
Tyson was seemingly joking about his famous disqualification against Evander Holyfield in 1997. On that night, Tyson was DQed after biting his opponent’s ear.
“I’ve heard about that,” replied interviewer Ariel Helwani. “I don’t want to know more…”

How much prize money did Paul and Tyson make
Paul, 27, and Tyson, 58, clashed in a highly controversial and divisive fight at the AT&T Stadium – home to NFL’s Dallas Cowboys – with the action streamed live on Netflix.
Tyson had not fought professionally in 19 years and had to postpone the original July date, after the heavyweight icon suffered an ulcer flare-up on a flight.
While many boxing fans dismissed this match-up, it may yet draw many eyes to the sport – and regardless was a major payday for Paul and Tyson. Here’s all you need to know.

Amanda Serrano accuses Katie Taylor of intentional headbutts in rematch defeat
Taylor defended her status as undisputed world light-welterweight champion with a unanimous decision victory over Serrano at the AT&T Stadium on Friday, with the judges scoring the bout 95-94 in her favour.
However, controversy erupted after the decision was handed down when the Puerto Rican used her post-fight interview on Netflix to accuse Taylor of intentional headbutting.
Serrano received a brutal cut above her eye in the fourth round, which was attributed to an accidental headbutt.

Jake Paul makes controversial admission after beating Mike Tyson
Jake Paul seemingly admitted he was only trying to “hurt” Mike Tyson “a little bit” in their controversial fight, which the YouTuber won on points.
During Friday’s fight, which took place at AT&T Stadium in Texas and streamed live on Netflix, Paul was accused of holding back against Tyson – or ‘pulling’ his punches.
When that was put to the YouTuber in his post-fight interview, Paul replied: “I was trying to hurt him a little bit. I was scared he was going to hurt me, I was trying to hurt him…”
At the post-fight press conference, Paul was again asked if he’d taken his foot off the gas in the later rounds, and he said: “Yeah, definitely, definitely a bit. I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want [to hurt him].”
Paul also said he did not feel Tyson’s power at any point during the fight.

Taylor v Serrano official scorecards revealed as Irish fighter hits back at robbery claims
Katie Taylor produced another gutsy and ultimately victorious showing in the ring to defeat Amanda Serrano at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on Friday night, a result which left the home crowd – and plenty of viewers – seriously displeased.
Despite the Irishwoman being warned and docked a point for leading with her head during the fight, she emerged with a points win after the judges handed down scores of 95-94 on all three cards.
The home support was heavily geared toward Serrano, who suffered a severe cut over her eye, with Taylor’s punches being met by boos as well as the end result.
Plenty, including some on the commentary, were between displeased and shocked that Taylor ended up victorious – or rather that Serrano was on the losing end of the results – leading to Taylor to speak out in her post-fight press conference to say she had no feelings towards what people said either way, given she was the one sat with belts in front of her.

“Yeah, definitely, definitely a bit,” Paul said.
“You know, I wanted to give the fans a show. But I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt,” he added.
