A weekly newspaper is marking 150 years in business by launching a set of awards.
The Forester, which coveres the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, has reached the milestone having first been published in 1874.
To mark the occasion, the Tindle-owned title has launched its second set of community awards.
The awards will be judged by a special team chaired by Liz Davies, Tindle Newspapers’ regional editor and Heather Wood, sales manager at The Forester.
An editorial by the paper states: “This year sees The Forester newspaper celebrating its 150th year of bringing the best in local news to the communities of the Forest of Dean and to mark this memorable anniversary we’d like to you to help us say ‘thank you’ to the people who make this such a special community in which to live.
“It’s been a tough couple of years for everyone and our neighbours and communities matter now more than ever.
“So we’d like to recognise some of those special people who make them so great.
“Our first ever Local Hero awards campaign which was held last year, was a massive success with hundreds of people enjoying the presentation evening.”
