Elevate Fitness Wirral was named Wirral Organisation of the Year at the recent awards ceremony held at The Floral Pavilion.

It was the 60th anniversary of the Sports Forum Awards on Tuesday, October 22 and Olympian Tom Bosworth was guest speaker.

Elevate Fitness Wirral was nominated for the award and Active Wirral chose them as the overall winner.

Kate Dillon and Leanne Chapman have only been in business together for around 18 months creating Clubbercise and Chill and then rebranding as Elevate Fitness Wirral over the summer.

They topped the table in our 2024 search to find Wirral’s Best for Fitness in June.

Kate and Leanne have both worked in the gym industry for more than 20 years combined and been instructors at several gyms across Wirral.

They met by chance a few years ago and became good friends, something which comes across in their classes.

Kate and Leanne started the business in March last year

Leanne said: “We bounce off each other and keep it very real in our classes.

“We don’t take ourselves too seriously and members feel comfortable in our classes and we treat them as our friends.

“Many of the members have become friends themselves and we socialise outside of classes – we love seeing on Facebook when they are all celebrating each other’s successes but also picking each other up when anyone is going through any difficult times.

“We take the time to chat to everyone that comes into one of our classes and we ensure that everyone there is valued and welcomed.”

The nomination for the business at the Sports Forum Awards said: “Elevate Fitness is a vibrant community that strives to uplift and empower every individual who steps through its doors.

“It is a judgement free zone offering a safe environment where people can disconnect from the stresses of the outside world and focus on their own wellbeing.

“Through their dynamic combination of dance, fitness and mindfulness, Kate and Leanne help people boost their physical health, enhance their mood, build confidence and nourish both heart and spirit.

“Their approach is about much more than just exercise – it’s about total wellness and personal growth.”

Kate said: “We want to continue to use our platform and the recognition we got from winning Wirral’s Best for Fitness and this latest award to raise the profile of what we stand for, which is exercising to promote mental health and wellbeing particularly in women, to make time for themselves.

“We also are going to be using our platform to raise awareness for local charities over the next 12 months, as we have a wonderful community of people who do nothing but champion us and each other.

“We are so proud of everyone’s efforts and that they are being recognised – we are so much more than a dance class.”
