As always Saturday is jam-packed with football action from England, Scotland and the whole of Europe with every top domestic league in the mix.

In the Premier League, champions Manchester City will have their sights trained on a shaky Southampton defence, while Everton’s mini-revival is tested by the arrival of Fulham at Goodison Park.

There’s Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga action – with all eyes focused on the Bernabeu on Saturday evening as Kylian Mbappe takes on the challenge of El Clasico for the first time when Barcelona visit.

Bet of the day

Both teams to score 1st half in Real Madrid vs Barcelona @ 11/4

Real Madrid and Barcelona come into El Clasico after big nights in the Champions League that saw them combining to hit Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich for nine goals.

Between them in La Liga, the Spanish giants have already netted 54 goals after ten rounds of games.

Barca are averaging 3.5 goals per game on the road, while Real have hit 14 in five home league games.

There have been at least three goals in the last six meetings of these great institutions, and three of those have gone over 3.5 goals. Both teams have scored before half-time in the previous two El Clasico clashes and it’s a sound bet again based on how they both operated in midweek.

Special of the day

Erling Haaland to score 2 or more vs Southampton @ 5/4

Manchester City’s ace marksman Erling Haaland is as short as 7/2 to get his third Premier League hat-trick of the season as leaky Southampton come to the Etihad.

The Saints are without a win, and have shipped 18 goals in eight games so far. They have also allowed Manchester City find the net four times in three of the last four meetings.

Haaland’s acrobatic exploits in midweek against Sparta Prague kick-started a brace that took him to 16 goals for club and country already.

With no recognised back-up, the 24-year-old has played every minute in the league so far, bar coming off in the 90th minute after a treble against Ipswich here in August. He could fill his boost against the sorry Saints.

Long shot of the day

Raul Jimenez 1st Goalscorer vs Everton @ 11/2

The teatime game in the Premier League sees Everton – unbeaten in four – welcome Fulham – losers in their last two.

The Cottagers tangled with Champions League outfits Man City and Aston Villa and put up plenty of resistance, while the Toffees have mixed with out of form sides like Leicester, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Ipswich in their mini revival.

Still, calling this either way looks a tough ask and preference is for Raul Jimenez to break the deadlock.

He’s scored five times in his last six starts for club and country, and each of those goals has been the opener. The Mexican also scored five times in six clashes with Everton as a Wolves player and is part of a Fulham side that scored in nine consecutive games.
