Bradshaw-based Wellington boots manufacturer, Grubs Boots, won Retail/Leisure and Hospitality Business of the Year.

Regional sales manager, Abi Foster, said: “We’re so grateful to win as it was such a tough category.”

Grubs Boots is a family run business that started by the Foster Family have been making footware since 1776.

Grubs is the result of investment into the most advanced materials and technology on their mission to create the most comfortable footwear available in the field.

This is nothing new as eight generations of the Foster family have been crafting the finest sports footwear since 1776.

Joe Foster, David’s great grandfather, was a founding member of AAA, hand-making shoes for the Olympic stars of 1924, Harold Abrams and Eric Liddell, featured in ‘Chariots of Fire’.

The company added: “David & his wife commitment to ensure the company is a success is evidence by the amount of travelling they do.

“Since I have been dealing with them David has travelled to America, Asia & other areas of the world to promote and evidence their brand at conventions.

“They have also given their apprentice the opportunity to attend these in the UK which provide the apprentice with hands on skills they wouldn’t have been able to obtain in an office environment.

Rivington’s Village Green Tea Room bolstered the list of nominees alongside, Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe, Amazonia, and Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
