As it looks to strengthen and bolster its deal services team as part of its growing consulting business, RSM UK has appointed two new partners. Terence Amako and Michael Buckley have joined the firm with four decades of experience between them.

Kirsty Sandwell, partner and head of consulting at RSMUK, commented, “Having Terence and Michael onboard shows our commitment to investing in industry leaders. Their wealth of knowledge allows us to further strengthen two key industries – infrastructure and technology – as well as increase our footprint in the deal services market. We’re delighted to have them as part of the team and look forward to seeing them thrive in their new roles.”

As the seventh largest professional services group operating in the UK, RSM offers a wide array of services, including assurance and advisory assistance spanning internal audit, technology risk, financial services compliance and international development funding. The firm has recently been expanding that offering – welcoming directors Michelle Bee and Alex Fraser, and Head of Business Development Nina Arundel in the summer alone.

Continuing that spree, Terence Amako over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance advisory. He joins as a partner from Centrus, where he was head of M&A. He specialises in advising corporates and private capital in the infrastructure and transport industries across the UK and Europe. Terence has a strong focus on energy transition, helping firms undertake strategic deals to meet their decarbonisation targets and match private capital to the right opportunity in this high growth market.

Amako said of his appointment, “UK and European infrastructure and energy transition targets are driving fast and significant changes to the strategic agenda of both corporate clients, and private capital. I am excited to be joining RSM at this pivotal time, where my sector expertise and RSM’s multidisciplinary service offering will enable us to provide the best advice and support clients as they assess their strategic options in this fast growing space.”

Meanwhile, with a further 19 years of professional experience, Michael Buckley joins RSM after nearly a decade at Deloitte. He joined the Big Four firm as an assistant director, and progressed to partner before his exit. He is an expert in financial due diligence, advising technology industry focused private equity investors and their portfolio companies across Europe and North America. Michael also has significant cross-border experience having undertaken overseas strategic secondments during his career in Dubai, Chicago and San Francisco.

Buckley added, “The technology M&A industry is a highly attractive, significant market and I’m delighted to bring my industry expertise to RSM to support clients with their M&A activity. The growth plans of the consulting business and the firm’s highly collaborative culture were significant drivers behind my reason for joining RSM.”
