Sony recently unveiled the PS5 Pro, which will launch with a £699 price point in November. The PS5 Pro will attempt to provide a better balance between visual fidelity and performance, which should mean more games running at 60 frames-per-second in 4K. While the £699 price tag may prove too much for some fans, it’s likely the PS5 Pro will still sell out at launch, as early adopters rush to get hold of the new and improved Sony console. With this in mind, it’s also worth noting that the PS5 Pro doesn’t actually come with a built-in disc drive. If you buy a lot of physical media and want to continue playing games on disc, then you should probably consider picking up an official PlayStation 5 Disc Drive now, before they sell out. Indeed, the official Disc Drive add-on is already out of stock on the PlayStation Direct website, but is currently still available at Argos. Just click the link below to grab a PS5 Disc Drive while you still have the chance.

Compatible with the PS5 Slim, PS5 Pro and Digital-only PlayStation 5, the Disc Drive attaches to your console and allows you to play Blu-Ray discs, as well as disc-based PS4 and PS5 games.

While the process may be slightly different for the PS5 Pro, attaching the Disc Drive is actually pretty straightforward.

Simply place it with the bottom facing up and the front side facing you, before detaching the horizontal stand feet and circle cover.

Sony explains more: “Align the disc drive’s clips with the 2 holes (marked with an upside-down triangle), then firmly push in until you hear a “click”.

“Attach the circle cover and horizontal stand feet (long) included with your disc drive. Align the cover’s clips with the corresponding holes on the console and push in until you hear a “click”.”

Images to accompany the instructions can be found on the PlayStation Direct website.

While the PS5 Pro doesn’t come with a disc drive, it does address one of the biggest issues I have with the original PlayStation 5, specifically the storage.

The PS5 Pro will actually ship with a 2TB hard drive, which means fans can store a lot more PS5 and PS4 games directly on the console.

Sony has also pledged to make improvements to ray-tracing, which means better lighting and shadows within the latest blockbusters.

To really show off the power of the PS5 Pro, lots of existing games will get a boost when the console launches in November.

This includes improved resolutions and frame rates for titles such as Demon’s Souls, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2 and Hogwarts Legacy.

The PS5 Pro has a November 7 release date. Pre-orders will go live on September 26.
