So, where is the richest country in Europe? It may come as no surprise that Luxembourg was crowned as the wealthiest in Europe.

Not only is the capital city rich but also the best city to work remotely. Researchers found the country has a GDP per capita of €128,597.

Luxembourg is a landlocked country and is surrounded by Belgium, France and Germany. It is Europe’s seventh-smallest country with an area of 2,586 square kilometres (998 sq mi).

According to Numbeo, the cost of living in Luxembourg is pretty hefty with a meal in an inexpensive restaurant setting you back €20 (£16.85) while the likes of a regular coffee would cost you €3.94 (£3.32) and a 0.33-liter bottle of water will cost €3.31 (£2.79).
