This comes from North Somerset Council’s allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Local enterprises can now tap into the Tech for Growth programme, an initiative managed by Business West (BW) in partnership with techSPARK, aimed at helping businesses adopt new tech and grow.

The Tech for Growth programme offers targeted tech adoption consultancy to businesses.

For North Somerset enterprises, this means expert advice on overcoming tech challenges and discovering what support can best help them achieve growth.

With this funding, up to 15 eligible North Somerset businesses can join the Tech for Growth programme.

North Somerset Council will handle initial enquiries to check eligibility before referring businesses to Business West and techSPARK for the programme.

The goal is to help businesses improve their processes, productivity, and competitiveness.

The programme also focuses on helping businesses enter new markets, attract more customers, and boost sales, leading to growth in turnover and employment.

It’s all about building resilience and preparing for the future.

Councillor Mark Canniford, North Somerset Council’s executive member for spatial planning, placemaking, and economy, said: “We’re thrilled to bring this fantastic opportunity to North Somerset businesses.

“By leveraging the Tech for Growth programme, our local enterprises can not only enhance their operations but also expand their reach and impact.

“This funding is a significant step towards ensuring our businesses remain competitive and resilient in today’s fast-paced digital world.”

Businesses must have a minimum of three full-time employees, fewer than 250 employees, and a minimum of £100,000 annual turnover to be eligible.

Applications open on September 2.

Businesses can initially enquire by emailing business@n-somerset.gov.uk.

The Tech for Growth programme connects with other support initiatives in North Somerset, ensuring businesses are aware of all the help available to them.

This includes backing from the hive, the West of England Combined Authority Growth Hub, and Weston College, all ready to lend a hand.
