SPECIALIST provider of marine services to the global energy industry, Interocean Marine Services (Interocean), has announced significant expansion as it opens multiple offices in Norway.

Located in Stavanger, Oslo, and Kristiansand, the new offices form part of Interocean’s continued global expansion plan that has already seen the UK-headquartered company open new premises in Glasgow and Aberdeen this year. The new Norwegian offices will enable the maritime specialist to increase its headcount by 10% over the next two years, bringing the total company headcount to 60. Formed in partnership with Southern Marine, a Seafront Group Company, Interocean’s new Norwegian locations will be headed up by Seafront Group AS Board Member, Thomas Granfeldt jr. alongside Intermediate General Manager, Kjetil Hansen. With more than 30 years of experience in the shipping and maritime industries, including his role as Senior Vice President of Business Relations at Global Ocean Technology Group and Assistant Port Director at Port of Kristiansand, Thomas’ expertise spans the Norwegian and global energy markets.

News of Interocean’s expansion into Norway comes shortly after the company announced its new Aberdeen and Glasgow premises following significant growth and project success in the UK.

Interocean’s Chief Commercial Officer, Alex Clark, added: “2024 has been an exciting and busy year for Interocean. We have opened multiple new premises, increased our headcount from 39 to 54, successfully delivered a world first offshore demonstration of the Elios 3 drone, and secured major contracts across the hydrocarbon, marine, and new energy industries.”

“Having executed offshore projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf since the company’s formation in 2007, we are pleased to have now established permanent bases in the country and look forward to working in partnership with Southern Marine to continuing delivering our ambitious growth plan as we head into Q4.”

Founded in 2007, Interocean works with several oil majors, drilling contractors, wind farm operators and Tier 1 Renewable firms and has offices in the UK, Canada, and the Middle East. From planning, design and installation to operational maintenance,Interocean provides a comprehensive range of services to the global energy market.
