More than a 100 jobs will be created under plans by a supplier of landscaping products to expand its operation, a council has said.

North Lincolnshire Council said Talasey Ltd was in the process of acquiring a 15-acre (about 6 hectares) plot from the authority.

The move would enable the firm to build a new warehouse and storage facility in Scunthorpe, creating 130 new jobs, more than doubling its existing 100-strong workforce, the council said.

Talasey relocated its operations from South Yorkshire to Scunthorpe in 2022.

From sites across North Lincolnshire the company supplies builders merchants with paving, decking and fencing products.

Council leader Rob Waltham said: “It’s fantastic to see leading companies like Talasey going from strength-to-strength here in North Lincolnshire, investing millions of pounds and creating even more new job opportunities.”

The firm’s founder and chief executive Mark Wall added that the additional operating space would create “new jobs and opportunities” for the local area.
