We have all been there as a kid on a family holiday or with our mates for a low-cost staycation post exams.

However, holiday parks in the UK seem to have a bad reputation. Many of them offer all that you need in one location and without the need to leave the park itself.

Sometimes things such as the quality of cleanliness or lack of activity can often leave us feeling a little underwhelmed.

Now, new research by consumer champions Which? has revealed which holiday parks are the best.

The list looked at factors such as cleanliness, food and drink, quality of activities/facilities and of course, value for money.

But one particular holiday park ranked well, with visitors calling it “impeccable” and “vibrant”. Potters Resorts came top with Which? calling it an “upscale affair with absolutely everything included”.

It has two five-star resorts: Five Lakes which is located in the Essex countryside and Hopton-on-Sea, which is situated along Norfolk coast.

Despite being more pricey than its counterparts such as Pontins (which came last on the list costing £43 per person per night) with Potters Resorts coming in at £110 pppn, guests can expect plenty of activities to do.

For those who are keen to make use of the resort’s activities, they include air rifle shooting, archery, rowing on the boating lake and indoor workouts.

Let’s not forget that Potters Resorts are all-inclusive meaning that you won’t have to fork out on any food or drink while you are there.

According to Potters Resorts Hopton-on-Sea Tripadvisor page it has a rating of 4.5 stars.

One person wrote: “Wow why haven’t I been here before? This place has it all in abundance. Great all-inclusive food and drink. Activities all day long and high-class evening shows. We liked it so much we booked again for next year before we left.”

Another added: “Welcome was a great start to our reception was very welcoming. The rooms was just perfect very clean and lovely decorated. Had everything you ever wanted in a room. The full entertainment program was the best I have ever seen also the show every night where better than a London show well done everyone.”

A third commented: “This was our second year visiting last year we did weekend break in September. This year we did a four-night break. Again it was outstanding, especially the staff. The week day break generally was a lot older crowd however this was a bonus for us as meant we had easy access to all the physical activities and no queuing to book activities etc.”

Another said: “Our first visit! WOW. What a fab time we had. Never stopped laughing. The entertainment team were all outstanding but mention has to go to Jack – there are no words other than ‘how much’.

“All the staff from cleaners reception restaurant bars were so polite and friendly nothing was too much. We had a deluxe hotel room H121 and it was amazing. Booked again for next May with our daughter son in law and grandchildren. Hopefully, we will be visiting before then too!”

Finally, a fifth said: “Went with my friend June 17, second time we have been, food outstanding bungalow and good value, the entertainment was great, lots to do at the resort.”
