The UK is home to tonnes of world-beating stuff. We’ve got fascinating museums, tip-top restaurants, spectacular national parks and gorgeous beaches. A recent study even reckoned that the single-best stargazing spot on the planet is a Scottish forest.

And the UK’s list of accolades certainly doesn’t end there. In fact, a recent award from TripAdvisor claims that the world’s best family-friendly attraction is right here in the UK. That’s right: the single greatest family-friendly thing on the entire planet is on British shores.

Apparently, the world’s best thing to do for a family day out is a guided stadium tour of Celtic Park in Glasgow. That’s according to TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Things to Do for 2024.

If that seems a somewhat odd choice, well, we might agree. TripAdvisor puts its Travellers’ Choice Awards together by weighing up the quantity and quality of reviews for an attraction over 12 months. ‘Guided Celtic Park Stadium Tour’ boasts a perfect five-star rating from over 2,100 reviews.

We assume none of those reviewers were Rangers fans – but still, Celtic Park undeniably has its charms. The home of Celtic Football Club and one of the biggest football stadiums in Scotland, Celtic Park has been in its current Parkhead spot since 1892. Tours allow visitors access to bits of the stadium that aren’t usually open to the public like the dressing rooms, dugouts and boardroom.

Second in TripAdvisor’s list of family-friendly experiences was ‘Private Morning Desert Safari with Dune Bashing & Sandboard’ in Dubai, while third was Little Toot Dolphin Adventure at Clearwater Beach in Florida. One other British experience made the top 10: the Wizard Walk of York.

You can find out more about the Celtic Park tour on TripAdvisor here and see the full list of Travellers’ choice awards winners in the UK here.
