Euro 2024 kicks off as hosts Germany face off against Scotland in Munich on Friday night (8pm, ITV1), raising the curtain on a month of intense action.

Scotland will relish the role of spoilers, but Steve Clarke’s men enter the tournament with a lengthy injury list and on a worrying run of form. Scotland have won only one of their last nine, which came against Gibraltar in a friendly.
In that time, they’ve lost to England, France, Spain and Netherlands. The Panel are not optimistic that Clarke’s men are ready for the challenge of Die Mannschaft, especially in front of a raucous crowd.

Germany vs Scotland Betting: Havertz To Continue Arsenal Form
Eyebrows were raised when Arsenal paid £65m to sign Havertz from Chelsea last summer.
But, the forward defied his critics with an encouraging first season for the Gunners. He broke double figures in the Premier League for the first time of his career, notching 13 goals as Mikel Arteta’s men finished as runners-up behind Manchester City.
Havertz was only outscored by Bukayo Saka, highlighting his importance in Arsenal’s side.
He can play the same role for Germany, but the quest for a successor to Miroslav Klose does not look like ending any time soon for Die Mannschaft.

Havertz is the highest-ranked Germany player in the Euro 2024 top goalscorer odds at 25/1 on betting apps, but he lacks a certain gravitas compared to France and England’s options with Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane.
The 25-year-old has scored 16 goals in 45 appearances and should have ample opportunities to add to his tally against Scotland. For Germany to have a strong tournament, Havertz will need to flourish in the final third.

Germany vs Scotland Tips: Clarke’s Men To Rack Up Yellows
International tournaments are not usually a port of call for high card counts.
At the last Euros, 151 yellow and six red cards were brandished during the competition an average of just under three per game. However, The Panel believe Scotland could be the ones to watch in the opener to lose their discipline.
