Have you ever travelled with Ryanair? As some of you may know the airline is known for its great travel flight deals across Europe.

However, did you know that the budget airline has a ban on a certain item that might be in your hand luggage?

We have all been there panicking through airport security wondering if we have put all our toiletries in our clear plastic bags or if we have remembered to remove that bottle of water from our rucksack.

But it turns out that the airline doesn’t like this item and of course, we have to follow baggage rules and regulations.

So, what is the banned item? Despite, some UK airports planning to ditch the 100ml liquid rule you might want to think again if you’re packing a lighter.

Government rules have warned travellers about carrying a lighter on board their flight.

According to GOV.UK travel advice, it reads: “You should put it inside a resealable plastic bag (like the ones used for liquids), which you must keep on you throughout the flight.”

Despite the warning you’re not allowed to put the lighter in your hand luggage once you have passed security.

Meanwhile, according to Ryanair’s website, it’s in the prohibited items section.

It reads: “You must not carry any of the following items in checked-in luggage or carry-on baggage, or go through security with them on you (for example in your pockets).”
