UK clothing brand Trailberg has selected Manchester Arndale for its first permanent UK store after signing five-year lease for a 1,300 sq ft unit.

Trailberg becomes the latest fashion brand to relocate to the centre following the arrival of French Connection, North Face, Dune, and Moss over the past 12 months.

With clothing designed with the needs of mountain runners in mind, Trailberg offers to provide its customers with the freedom of movement, breathability, and durability to tackle even the toughest trails.

Trailberg’s range of tracksuits, twinsets, windbreakers, hoods, ¼ zips, and shorts have proved popular with shoppers across the UK and have mainly been available online, or through partnerships with other retailers.

The new Manchester store, located in the former Cruyff space, will now provide Trailberg fans with a dedicated space to access and try on its full range of products.

Trailberg becomes the latest brand to select Manchester Arndale as the location for one of its first stores which is testament to the centre’s ability to attract new and innovative retailers, said the retail centre. Trailberg’s arrival also increases the diverse range of clothing brands located at Manchester Arndale. This wide variety of choice has allowed the centre to continue to post strong footfall figures in recent years with more than 46 million people visiting the centre in 2023.

M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale and New Cathedral Street while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents, with Green & Partners retained lease advisory agents.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, said: “We always enjoy working with new and innovative businesses, so it is great to see Trailberg select Manchester Arndale for its first store. Trailberg has become a popular UK brand, especially in the North West, and we expect their new store to become popular with our shoppers.

“Having a strong mix of brands is vital to maintaining a popular retail destination. Not only does it help to attract strong footfall, but it also encourages interest from both international and local brands keen to benefit from the centre’s reputation as the go-to shopping destination for the North West.

“As a result, we are close to agreeing further leases with several big name brands which will take the centre closer to full occupancy.”
