About the role

The Cosmopolitan beauty director will create, develop and execute the beauty strategy for Cosmopolitan, as well as being Hearst’s go-to for all things young women’s beauty. Working with the Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief, deputy editor and the Hearst Group beauty director, the beauty director is the face of our beauty output, responsible for the successful delivery of beauty content across all brand platforms (print, digital, video, social, events) and any brand extensions in the UK, as well as identifying emerging revenue opportunities and helping drive new business.

About you

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a beauty role (or similar) at a large media brand, including experience writing for print and planning content.
  • Strong working relationships with the most important Cosmopolitan relevant PRs, able to call on them for beauty products, trend insight and partnership opportunities.
  • Thoroughly embedded in the world of beauty, up-to-speed on the latest beauty trends, social trends, product launches, key shopping dates, industry news and the biggest events.
  • Experience working across e-commerce, with the ability to identify in-demand trends, key shopping opportunities and high-return retailers.
  • Experience working with commercial clients or on brand partnerships.
  • Experience overseeing large scale editorial projects such as beauty awards. 
  • Experience managing junior team members.
