Jet2 has issued a flight warning for passengers travelling from East Midlands Airport between June 14 and June 16.

The holiday company said: “The Download Music Festival is taking place at Donington Park between Friday June 14 and Sunday June 16.

“It is expected that traffic and congestion around the area will be heavier than normal from June 12 as festival-goers begin to arrive for the event.

“Please allow extra time for your journey to East Midlands Airport and make sure your contact details are up to date in Manage My Booking.”

Jet2 said that its team would be in touch with passengers if the situation changes at any point.

The Download Music Festival runs from June 14 and June 16 but guests are expected to arrive a couple of days earlier.

Jet2 also issued passengers a warning for travel to Olbia Airport in southern Italy between June 13 and June 15 due to the G7 summit.

It said: “The G7 Summit is taking place in Puglia, Southern Italy between Thursday June 13 and Saturday June 15.

“Due to the event, we have been made aware of an increase in traffic at Olbia Airport across these dates.

“Please allow extra time for your journey to Olbia Airport and for check-in and security procedures on arrival, as all Jet2.com flights are due to operate on time.”

Passengers travelling to and from Majorca Airport in Spain are also advised that the airport is currently undergoing maintenance work and they could face delays.
