It has been claimed that Ruth Langsford’s emotions have taken a drastic turn following her split from husband Eamonn Holmes. The GB News host has reportedly been growing closer to a blonde divorcee over the past few months.

According to The Sun, a source has claimed that Eamonn has treated his new friend to trips away and showered her with gifts after his separation from Ruth.

A source claimed to The Sun on Sunday that Ruth’s sadness has “turned to anger”, as Eamonn’s friend has reportedly been “lavished with attention and kindness from him” following the split.

It’s reported Eamonn first got in contact with his new friend, who is believed to be a 40-year-old relationship counsellor, on Twitter. The woman in question is said to have commented on a Twitter post, which sparked a conversation.

According to the publication, they’ve grown closer with Eamonn reportedly treating her to a Beyonce concert, a Center Parcs trip, and tickets to see his favourite football team, Manchester United, at Old Trafford.

Speaking about the 40-year-old, the source also claimed: “She works for a charity Eamonn is involved with from time to time.”

Express.co.uk have contacted Eamonn and Ruth’s representatives for comment.

In the past, Ruth shared on ITV’s Loose Women that she’d prefer it if Eamonn left her for someone younger.

She said at the time: “The worst thing is if he went off with someone the same age. That’s my worst fear.”

At the end of May, the duo announced their separation after 14 years of marriage.

The pair first got together in 1997 after their mutual friend and TV star Sally Meen introduced them.

Since then, the stars went on to have one child together called Jack, who Ruth often mentions on Loose Women.

However, after over a decade of marriage, they’ve decided to call it a day on their relationship.

Although Ruth is yet to publicly speak about her marriage breakdown, Eamonn took a brief moment to touch on it.

Speaking on GB News alongside his co-star Isabel Webster, he said: “Just before we move on we’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation.

“Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”
