Long queues are forming at major airports across the UK following issues with Border Force e-gates.
All airports in the country are believed to be impacted by the problem.
Pictures posted on social media show large queues at passport control gates across the country.
A Heathrow Airport spokesman said: “We are aware that Border Force is currently experiencing a nationwide issue. Our teams are supporting Border Force with their contingency plans to help resolve the problem as quickly as possible and we apologise for any impact.”
Passports are being checked manually at some airports.
