Google is experiencing a major outage as users encounter the dreaded 502 error, with widespread issues reported across services like Maps, Classroom, Earth, and more. Reports are surging in from around the world, indicating that the tech behemoth’s search engine has taken a hit today.

Frustrated users are facing significant disruptions while using various Google services, especially Google Search. Downdetector’s UK statistics reveal that over 300 initial complaints have been lodged by users struggling to access the dominant search engine.

In America, the number of reports has soared past 1,400, with New York, Denver, Colorado, and Seattle being hotspots for the outage. Google’s suite of services extends beyond search; it includes Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Talk.

The company is also behind the Chrome web browser, Android operating system for smartphones, Google Play app store, and the Adwords and Adsense advertising platforms.

Social media is abuzz with reactions, including one user on Twitter who simply posted “Google down” alongside an image of the error message encountered when attempting to use the search engine from Croatia, reports the Mirror.

The error message reads: “502. That’s an error. The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds. That’s all we know.”

Another user expressed their frustration on Downdetector.com, stating: “google search giving server error on and off.”
