New team to help meet the needs of insurers in the region
Shift Technology has announced the expansion of its UK operations with several key appointments.
The company has named George Robbins as head of UK markets, a seasoned professional in anti-financial crime and risk management.
Robbins brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles, including executive leadership at TransUnion and advisory positions at Hometrack, and his leadership in BAE Systems’ Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.
“I’ve spent a large part of my career helping insurers adopt exciting new technologies to help them achieve their business objectives. Joining Shift gives me an opportunity to continue that journey as our industry embraces AI,” Robbins said.
Alongside Robbins, several key positions have been filled within the UK team, including Iain Jones, Katie Hill, and Laura Horrocks. These appointments are part of an effort to harness the approximately £73 billion market potential of the UK insurance industry.
Jones, joining as a solutions consultant, previously worked at esure as a vital part of the insurer’s fraud prevention team. Hill, with a background in combating insurance fraud, most recently worked with the IFB, and Horrocks has experience in bridging technology solutions with insurance providers.
Since its entry into the UK market in 2017, Shift Technology has been providing decision-making solutions to notable industry entities such as 1st Central, the Insurance Fraud Bureau, and Markerstudy Insurance Services Limited.
Shift’s AI technology assists insurance professionals daily in enhancing decisions regarding suspicious claims, recovery opportunities, and underwriting processes.
“The UK is a strategic market for Shift. This team expansion adds a wealth of experience and expertise, across both key processes and lines of business, that will help us best meet the needs of insurers throughout the region,” Jeremy Jawish, CEO and co-founder of Shift Technology, said.
He noted, “The industry is evolving, and we see ourselves as trusted partners and advisors who are here to help insurers take advantage of that evolution. Under George’s leadership, our UK team is well positioned to continue serving this role for the UK insurance market,” Jawish said.
