MONTH OF April

April showers could rain success on you this month, Crab. But it won’t be the straightforward path you’d expect! The Sun, Mercury retrograde and a total solar eclipse will all take place in Aries, sweeping through your tenth house of career, structure and ambition.

The Sun is in Aries until April 19, which is typically a peak professional season for you—or at least a time for setting big goals. Your mind is fixed on the future. But…where exactly are you heading? And how do you plan to get there?

Looking to your past might provide some important clues. From April 1 to 25, Mercury, the planet of communication, technology and travel, will be retrograde hitting the planetary pause button. It’s a time to evaluate your plans rather than charge ahead. Are you presenting the most polished version of yourself and your ideas as possible? Could you use some mentorship or additional training? Have you gotten an instructive second (even third) opinion on an important plan?

At times it might feel like one step forward, two steps back. But retracing your trajectory could remind you of some forgotten priorities or reveal parts of your foundation that need to be fortified. While slowing down feels counterintuitive, it might be a blessing in disguise. Rather than just push an agenda forward, Mercury retrograde invites you to stop and look around. Slowing down could be the best practice you cultivate this month, so learn to embrace it!

Besides, a lot of new informationclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” is incoming at the April 8 total solar eclipse in Aries. This supercharged supermoon could bring an important healing insight AND an opportunity from far left field. Didn’t see that one coming? Well, that’s how eclipses typically work: They’re predictably unpredictable.

Eclipses come in pairs, and the first one, on March 25, landed in your fourth house of home and family. It was a lunar eclipse in Libra, a full moon that may have shaken up “business as usual” in your domestic or personal affairs.

Since solar eclipses happen at new moons, the April 8 eclipse brings an opportunity to start over with a bold solution. April 8 will feature SIX placements in Aries: the Sun, moon, Mercury (retrograde), Venus, the north node and healer-feeler comet Chiron.

We’ve nicknamed this event the Chironeclipse since Chiron is in a tight conjunction with the Sun and moon. If you have painful past experiences around leadership or career, Crab, now is the time to do the inner repair work. You may excavate some buried beliefs about yourself and your worthiness that have created a “ceiling” on your success.

Here’s a question to reflect on: Are YOU stepping up and being a leader in your life? If April wants you to know anything, it’s that waiting around for someone to “save” you or create the change you want is not the way. BEING the change, on the other hand, gets a celestial stamp of approval. You’ll have surprise opportunities to advocate for yourself and your mission this month once the eclipse arrives. Get ready to come out of your famous shell—way out!

Perhaps your nurturing sign has experienced responsibility as a burden, confusing it with caretaking. It’s all too easy for some Cancers to fall into a codependent dynamic or to take on an unequal share of the emotional labor. Your strength can give people around you the (wrong) impression that it’s okay to slack off because they’ve come to assume YOU’LL just handle it.

If this sounds like you, good news. You’ll have a perfect chance to try out teamwork starting April 19. That day, the Sun leaves Aries and your hard-driving tenth house, moving into Taurus, your eleventh house of groups and networking. The energy eases up for the next month, helping you find camaraderie and collaboration wherever you go.

Lean into a new way of leading that empowers rather than enables people. That requires trading in control and leaning into trust—in yourself, them and the universe. Loosen that Crab-claw grip and watch the magic happen.

This April 20 will bring an ultra-rare conjunction (meetup) of lucky Jupiter and radical changemaker Uranus, which happens once every 14 years! This Jupiter-Uranus conjunction is in Taurus, their first time uniting in this sign since May 1941. Your social network will be electrified by this jolt of liberating energy. Get ready for your popularity to soar and for news of your original ideas to spread fast!

With expansive Jupiter and unconventional Uranus both in Taurus, befriending someone who’s different from your usual “type” could bring amazing new energy into your life. Cast a wider net. Make an effort to meet people, ask what they’re up to and share about yourself. Bonus: A friend could end up introducing you to a valuable new client or contact. You never know!

The tricky part of April? Finding that restorative downtime in your “shell” that Cancers need. You love people, but you also savor time alone. You may need to schedule those solo moments the same way you would a staff meeting or a salon appointment. Do whatever it takes to stay balanced, and be sure to let your people know so they can support you.

Passion fills the picture frame on April 23 as the Scorpio full moon beams into your fifth house of joyful self-expression, love and creativity. Come out, come out, Cancer! The spotlight could find you, drawing attention (hopefully the good kind) your way.

You might issue (or hear) a heartfelt declaration of love or just feel the “spring awakening” of your slumbering libido awakening from winter hibernation. Rrowr! And don’t be surprised if others notice your flirty, frisky energy.

For some Crabs, this full moon COULD come with a turbulent emotional outburst or an ego-driven power struggle. Try to avoid knee-jerk reactions. Dodge the drama and channel this energy into something that makes your heart feel full instead.

Ready to let loose and have a little fun? During Taurus season, you’ll thrive when you step away from your duties and mingle for work and extracurricular social time. The Scorpio full moon could remind you of the simple things that bring you joy. Prioritize pleasure now, no matter how busy life feels. Find moments for heart-opening happiness, to express love or to be honest about the raw emotions you could be experiencing. Bring ALL of you to the party, Cancer, not just the sides you think people want to see.

While you may feel a bit vulnerable or exposed by all the plot twists of eclipse season, there’s a freedom in that. Sure, you can strive to show up prepared for any situation. But sometimes life comes at you too fast for that. And that’s okay! You’ll find out who your real friends are. Or you may discover where your support system needs to be fortified. Or a limiting belief could get revealed. Whatever is happening TO you could actually be happening FOR you in some ways. Embrace the opportunity to stretch and grow!

You’re of two minds this April as lovebirds Venus and Mars begin parting ways after spending the first quarter of 2024 in close proximity. On April 5, seductive Venus goes on a “custom designing” mission in Aries and your goal-oriented tenth house. If only we could order relationships the way we do food on a menu—but, alas, Cancer, you may have to remind yourself often that humans don’t work like that.

With Mercury retrograde in Aries all month, you could find yourself rethinking every aspect of your love life from what type of future you want to create with a partner to the structure of an existing relationship. While this review period is useful, don’t step into the comparison trap. Every bond is unique, Cancer, and only the two people involved have a true view of the interaction.

That said, you might gain a lot from working with an expert this month, such as a love coach or therapist who specializes in attachment issues. Now here’s the confusing part about April. Until the 30th, bad boy Mars is having a bachelor party in Pisces and your no-limits ninth house. Your desire for freedom, naughtiness and experimentation is as strong as your urge to power couple. It’s going to be a balancing act, so try to take things 24 (or 48) hours at a time instead of planning a forever future to the detriment of fun.

Aim high, Crab! The Sun is in Aries and your ambitious tenth house until April 19, your annual month to focus on your professional ascent. The April 8 Aries new moon, a total solar eclipse could bring an exciting opportunity—or more clarity around your next moves. Expect the unexpected: This eclipse could take you completely by surprise, bringing an offer out of the blue.

But don’t rush to say “yay” or “nay” just yet. From April 1 to 25, Mercury will be retrograde in Aries, stirring up career chaos and confusion. From server outages to inexplicably broken office equipment to frustrating red-tape delays, you’ll have to practice patience. Key decision-makers could be slow to respond, if not entirely AWOL.

While you’re on hold, explore your passions! Mars is in Pisces and your entrepreneurial ninth house, which could add some sizzle to a side hustle or inspire you to turn a hobby into an indie business venture. Could a retreat or even a return to school open exciting new horizons? Explore your curiosity and see where in the world (literally) it might lead you between now and April 30.
